When the three-row Kia Sorento was redesigned in 2021, the Sorento Hybrid model was also introduced. What’s New for 2023?

Available options for the SX-P include a two-tone white & blue interior, a panoramic sunroof, and some premium paint colors.

Power and Performance

All 2023 Sorento Hybrid models get their power from a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a 44-kilowatt electric motor and 1.5-kWh battery. Mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission, this setup can deliver up to 227 horsepower with 258 lb-ft of torque. The EX trim comes standard with front-wheel drive, with AWD as an option, while all-wheel drive is standard on the SX-P version. The AWD system comes with Drive Mode Select, including Comfort, Eco, Smart, and Sport modes, along with Snow mode for the SX-P. 

You’ll get better fuel economy in the front-wheel drive EX, with a 39/35/37 MPG city/highway/combined EPA rating. All-wheel drive decreases the MPG rating to 34/36/33. Standard safety and driver-assist features include auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, driver attention warning system, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, and auto lane-centering. Rear occupant alert, adaptive cruise control, and safe exit assist are also standard on both trims. Choose the SX-P, and you’ll also get a 360° camera with blind-spot monitoring.
