You have two engine options in the Sorento, with front- or all-wheel drive. They are:

• A 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder as the standard mill (producing 191 hp) 
• A turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder as optional (producing 281 hp)

Both of these engines are coupled with an 8-seed automatic transmission, while the hybrid models come equipped with a 6-speed automatic.
